Proton Calorimetry/Meetings/2025/04/29
Minutes for UCL Proton Beam Therapy Group Meetings, 28th April
Present
Joe Bateman, Sonia Escribano, Harry Barnett, Matt Warren, Simon Jolly
HarryBarnett
- For next model get rid of bolts for assembly, but just have travel bolts (for travelling, but then once in treatment room remove bolts), have something that pushes and clicks in.
- Magnetic sockets to fit the nuts with less difficulty to secure in modules for UCLH beam test and equivalent for the end plate covers as well
- Fit patch panel at UCL before UCLH beam test
- Duplicate of base rail system for the roof (maybe for UCLH if we have time?) -
- Wheels will be sorted before UCLH
- Hand tools for nuts, faceplates and wheels
- Then PD clamps (before ceiling rail)
- Then ceiling rail (likely not suitable in time for UCLH)
- Best way forward with Nuvia - ask them to injection mould to a slightly larger thickness then use daetron to machine one face to 3mm and 3 of the sides
Sonia Escribano
- If keeping same electronics before next beam test - check output of board 6
- Label upside of cables
- Need to improve calibration for live data - need to split compressed files into 2
- GUI for 1 sided measurements
- Reassemble original stack 4
- Filenames are very long and tedious when looking for file - remove date at beginning? But then will end up with a lot of different filenames - keep as it is until better alternative
- On all shoot throughs higher signal always seen on boards that are on the left side for each shoot through - suggesting transverse misalignment
- Following averaging of calibrations for each direction and looks relatively flat - however, relative scaling between calibrated boards varies significantly
- Therefore the calibration coefficient for one module depends on number of modules we calibrate with
Simon Jolly
- Joe to check getting both network hubs talking to each other
- Retest entire setup again
Matt Warren
- Bug on PCB where had to be drilled and hence why have usb c cable orientation
- Will modify firmware to turn off some of the lights but there are two lights on fpga that can’t be turned off
- Issue with noise on signal when plugging in cables without unplugging usb into first board is to do with reset signal
