Minutes for UCL Proton Beam Therapy Group Meetings, 11th February

Present

Joe Bateman, Sonia Escribano, Febian, Simon Jolly

Sonia Escribano

  • New calibrated file structure - additional info added to header lines (19 lines)
  • Maybe add no of modules lines ?
  • Also another line whether to mention no of sides covered with photodiodes i.e. 1 or 2
  • Calibration consistency
    • Should compare just one shoot through direction for all modules
    • This time round has averaged both directions in each module
    • When we do new calibration method, automatically attempts to apply calibration_1 even if 1st module (which calibration1 is needed for) is not included.
    • Have to remove the calibration file manually
    • Not a problem in the future since final product won't be modifiable
  • When looking closely on on averaged shoot through on four modules, appears to be sloping trend behaviour (alternating between the four modules, down/up/down/up)
  • Added progress bar in GUI
  • Gui next steps
    • Raw data files need to split into two
    • Averaged calibration file needs to be split in two also so live calibration can be applied to both curves simultaneously?
    • Or calibration live split in two?
    • Write four lines to average.csv instead of two (i.e data, errors, data, errors)
    • New circuits should be here last week of February hopefully ready to build into modules on first week of feb
  • To check consistency between modules, apply calibration but use a single from shoot through to check consistency between modules
    • Level should be the same

Joe Bateman

  • Currently in process of running simulations for QuADProBe reconstruction and working on intro for Frontiers in Oncology paper
  • Checking whether should contact Sam Flynn about transmission calorimeter results to include in presentation for PPRIG and paper - answer is yes so will schedule meeting in coming days.

Febian

  • Continued presentation on PBT and QuARC
