Minutes for UCL Proton Calorimetry Meeting, 28th February 2018 (D17, Physics & Astronomy, UCL)

Present

Simon Jolly, Anastasia Basharina-Freshville, Matthieu Hentz, Jordan Silverman, Dan Walker, Laurent Kelleter

DW:

  • Took data with fast treatment plan verification prototype on 21st February.
  • Data received from Tony Price:
    • Spectra look messy with significant energy spread.
    • Can see difference between with and without polyethylene sheet.
  • Everything written up on Wiki: just need to add photos.
  • To Do:
    • Extract PRaVDA tracking data.
    • Email Tony Price and check exact energy and find out whether they have any energy spread data.
    • Correlate with scintillator pulses.
    • Create 3D dose distribution.

JS:

  • Working on building CAD models of Clatterbridge beamline.
  • Certain components are not specified correctly or overlap: SJ has provided most up-to-date drawings he has; MH will do the same.
  • To import models into Geant4:
    • Break each model down into constituent parts.
    • Create assembly of all components made of the same material.
    • Export this model as an STL-File (meshed CAD model).
    • Convert each material STL-File into GDML.
    • Import this meshed GDML file into Geant4 as given material.
  • To Do:
    • Finish CAD model for MH's simulation.
    • Define vacuum for initial vacuum tube.
    • Rerun simulations to check differences in simulations with CAD components.

LK:

  • Finished 3D printed cover for bridge over ISDI sensor bond wires.
  • To Do:
    • Install software on DAQ PC: DSLR software, EPIX card drivers and software, LabView, Aspect software (once we have it).
    • Test sensor.

ABF:

  • Scintillator sheets now polished: most of the scratches now removed.
  • To Do:
    • Install software on DAQ PC: Caen digitiser and HV.
    • Packing inventory.

MH:

  • Course deadlines are a week earlier than anticipated...
  • Geant4 Clatterbridge simulations finished.
  • To Do:
    • Update Wiki.
    • Submit coursework.
