The UCL High Energy Physics Group contributes to a wide range of research on a variety of different topics. Our current programme includes the following experiments and areas.
ATLAS
Construction of, upgrades to and analysis of data from the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.
AWAKE
Acceleration of electrons using a plasma driven by 450 GeV protons from the CERN SPS with the Advanced WAKefield Experiment.
CDF
Analysis of proton-antiproton collisions with the CDF experiment at Fermilab.
Centre for Doctoral Training in Data Intensive Science
Development and application of ground-breaking data intensive science (DIS) techniques on STFC's word-leading DIS experiments and beyond, including training the next generation of leaders in the field of data science.
CHIPS
A neutrino oscillation experiment seeking to build megaton volume detection volumes using Cherenkov detetors immersed in disused mine pits along the trajectory of the FNAL NUMI neutrino beam.
CREAM TEA
Using muon tomography for large-volume imaging using Cosmic Ray Extensive Area Mapping for Terrorism Evasion Application.
Dark Matter
Searching for Dark Matter with direct detection experiments.
