Proton Calorimetry/Meetings/2025/03/04
Minutes for UCL Proton Beam Therapy Group Meetings, 4th March
Present
Joe Bateman, Sonia Escribano, Matt Warren, Simon Jolly, Raffaella Radogna (via Teams)
Matt Warren
- zMod boards don’t work - Connected two supplies that weren’t supposed to be connected - Zero ohm resistor connects power supply to ground - Shorting between 1.8V and 3V supplies - Still shorting even when pulling all components off the board - Only 4 places where power plane needed - Going to try and separate connection between top layer and via - And isolate 4 connections and wire directly to input
Raffaella Radogna
- Submitted beam time request for Trento - Started assembling fibre frame
Joe Bateman
- Further analysis of the 5 Gy SOBP Simulations with varying the input parameters between the QuADProBe and DICOM
- Gamma analysis of all QuADProBe compared to all DICOM distributions
- Have data from Tony for 5x5 box fields but need to figure out how to process it with script
- Joe, Simon, Sonia and Raffy met with Blake Leverington from Heidelberg Uni physics department to discuss scintillating fibre monitor - Blake is willing to forward details of DAQ system electronics
Simon Jolly
- consider for beam tests: off centre shoot through calibrations
Sonia Escribano
- Raspberry pi’s all in argon one v3 cases
- All have been tested with nexys board and usb connection to an old revc board and all work
- Setting up on UCL network - to have static or dynamic IP address
- Put old raspberry pi 4 stuff in d26
- Box field and SOBP analysis
- Run 53 3x3 box field
- Highest energy is partially cut
- Run 59 and run 60 5x5 box fields data not so great, on lower energies photodiode 33 skews fits, however if manually scale down fits improve
- New calibration method
- live display averaged at 25 hz
- Calibrate live - everything in one, separate into two files and fit each side individually
- Calibrating post - same but creating file
- Fitting of each calibrated file done individually
- Note in header of calibrated and fitted data which side it is for
