Proton Calorimetry/Meetings/2024/12/11
Minutes for UCL Proton Beam Therapy Group Meetings, 11th December
Present
Joe Bateman, Sonia Escribano, Febian, Simon Jolly, Raffaella Radogna (via zoom)
Sonia Escribano
- Made list on wiki for components inside peli case etc
 - We need 256 photodiodes
 - Do an inventory of all the photodiodes
 - Rev e boards on their way - small chance could test them before xmas
 - Potential to mount raspberry pi on lid
 - Have at least 2 raspberry pi's and mount them both in case they have any issues
 - Do same with usb 104 so effectively have two parallel machines - one external power supply should be fine
 - Need to test power supply for cmod board - whether can be powered by external power supply and fpga
 - Started inventory of all scintillator sheets
 - Will do same with boards and photodiodes
 - All gui versions on github

- Have a meeting to discuss 2025 experimental plan

Joe Bateman
- TOPAS installed and working on Plus1 using Geant4 CVMFS installation.
 - Simulating pb1 from UCLH run33 (SOBP) on TOPAS (over batch farm) and FRED (ran locally) to compare range and beam sizes (at 1cm and r80)
 - Full 34 pb 3D dose reconstruction of UCLH run33 in FRED using CMOS size, position, intensity and QuARC energies.
- Simulation does not result in smooth SOBP plateau - assuming it's due to CMOS intensity measurements

 - Will run a comparative FRED simulation using intensities from DICOM instead and another using all parameters from DICOM

Febian
- Presented further updates to ZMOD daughter board #2
 - On fpga - looking at using external files for fpga fitting
 - Have to hardcode data in to fpga
 - Time analysis - implementing linear regression fitting on fpga - limited resources for data disk space and fitting
