Minutes for UCL Proton Beam Therapy Group Meetings, 4th March

Present

Joe Bateman, Sonia Escribano, Febian, Harry Barnett, Simon Jolly, Raffaella Radogna (via Teams)

Harry Barnett

  • Daetron to be delivered on wb 7th April
  • Sorting air handling unit in the workshop on 2nd April
  • Vacuum pump already delivered

Raffaella Radogna

  • Debugging setup of fibres in Bari
  • Producing new connectors and cables
  • Outcome from meeting Blake last Friday and how to move forward

Joe Bateman

  • Finalising slides and talk for PPRIG

Simon Jolly

  • Circuit boards being investigated by Oxford and looking at remaking zmod boards
  • Ddc boards have arrived in Oxford and have been looked at by Pete and should hopefully be okay
  • Matt has bypassed shorts on one of the zmod boards by brute force to work so can test ddc boards and zmod boards

Sonia Escribano

  • Upgrading calibration process
  • Shoot through files (2 per calibration) how many off-centre measurements - depends on available beam time but at least 4 ideally (up, down, left, right)
  • Acquire data with both boards simultaneously for calibration of each stack
    • Doesn’t matter if we do or don’t have live display of uncalibrated data for this part
  • Calculating WET of each stack - included beam time request for each module front and back
  • Had a look at reversed board acquisition and need to be weary of photodiode position of where BP occurs for reconstruction
  • However when using multiple stacked will only have to use one beam direction so this issue with flipping twice will not be necessary
  • Will eventually need to give one single calibration file including weightings if necessary for different beam positions

Febian

  • Continuing slides on understanding PBT and the of the QuARC detector.
