Minutes for UCL Proton Calorimetry Meeting, 9th January 2019 (D17, Physics & Astronomy, UCL)

Present

Simon Jolly, Raffaella Radogna, Laurent Kelleter, Jeremy Ocampo, Saad Shaikh, Fernando Franco Felix, James Golbourn, Ohie Mayenin, Matthieu Hentz

SJ, RR' and MH need to register for PTCOG.

JO:

  • Group placement coming up with Valtech working on NHS patient data.
  • Two HEP exams in January.
  • Enrolled on Simon Arridge's Inverse Problems course.
  • Working through CERN Geant4 examples.
  • To Do:
    • Contact Adam Gibson and arrange meeting to discuss Birmingham scintillator measurements.
    • Ask Adam about building scintillator simulations in Geant4.

OM:

  • Managed to run Clatterbridge simulation in Geant4:
    • Not sure if it finished properly...
    • MH suggests using smaller number of particles.
  • Need to start working on BDSIM with CAD model:
    • Have already run 1 tutorial.
    • Will contact James Chappell to get contact details for Laurie Nevay.

FFF:

  • Collated data for photodiodes: will put together presentation.
  • Need to find out input specs of DDC1128.

SS:

  • Analysed all data from Birmingham experimental runs:
    • Eyepatch data gives excellent match with Caen spectra.
    • Working on matching Caen and Lecroy spectra by minimising a chi^2.
  • To Do:
    • Do binning manually in 4D histogram.
    • Scale spectra data for chi^2 fitting.
    • Retrieve tracker data from Tony Price.
